In celebration of his birthday on the 26th, I had a bit of fun playing around with my favourite pieces from Christopher Kane's Resort 2013 collection.
The collection was about recalling his heritage with familiar shapes, prints and fabrics. Kane stated, “It’s kind of about taking ownership of my MA [Graduate Collection] references, and about remembering being at art school with girls walking round with paint under their fingernails.”
As usual, his graphic prints were unique and eye-catching. Kane reclaimed his neon pastel palette for some structured, minimal pieces and he went back to the bright lace we were all talking about after his spring 2011 collection. Most notably, he also brought back the plastic clip belts from his first collection.
This collection wasn't about about an obscure concept. This was pure Kane.
